OTET 2012 - ODISHA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST, 2012 Answer Keys-Admit Cards
Teacher Eligibility Test has been made mandatory for appointment of Teachers in Primary & Upper Primary Schools. The Government in the Department of School & Mass Education have decided to conduct ODISHA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST w.e.f. the current year 2012. The First OTET 2012 will be conducted on 05th August, 2012 at designated centers across the State.

ELIGIBILITY
(i) Persons having the following minimum qualification shall be eligible for taking OTET.
(a) Category – A (Paper – I)
Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT) / 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by RCI.
OR
Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by RCI.
(b) Category – B (Paper – II)
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/ 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) approved by RCI.
OR
Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.
Provided that relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC/SEBC category.
Provided further that candidates having minimum marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, prescribed at the time of admission in teacher education courses shall also be eligible to take OTET, 2012.
(ii) Persons who are pursuing (final year) any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or by the RCI, as the case may be) specified above in both the categories.
(iii) Persons who had applied for engagement as Siksha Sahayaks along with untrained candidates belonging to SC, ST and PH categories as per the stipulation relating to eligibility given in the advertisement(s) issued during December, 2011, shall also be eligible to take the OTET, 2012.
(iv) Untrained +2(Science) and graduate (Science) candidates belonging to all categories having the requisite qualifications specified at para-(i) shall be eligible to take the OTET, 2012.
(v) Untrained candidates belonging to SC, ST & PH categories in all streams having the requisite qualifications specified at para-(i) shall be eligible to take the OTET, 2012.
RULES OF OTET
1. The OTET shall be conducted in two papers.
2. Candidates satisfying the qualification mentioned at category-A or pursuing final year of two year Diploma Training Course recognized by NCTE or RCI can take OTET only in Paper-I.
3. Candidates satisfying the qualification mentioned at category-B or pursuing final year of Degree Training Course recognized by NCTE or RCI can take OTET only in Paper-II.
4. The duration of the test in each paper shall be one hour and thirty minutes.
5. All questions will be multiple choice questions, each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which the candidate has to find out the correct answer.
6. The question papers in non language subjects shall be in Odia and English.
7. Following languages shall be offered in Language – I. Odia, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu & Bengali. The candidates have to choose any one of these four languages.
8. Language – II shall be English for all candidates.
9. There shall be no negative marking.
10. The candidates shall give the answers on OMR Sheet.
11. The validity period of OTET qualifying certificate/ mark sheet shall be for a period of 07 years from the date of OTET examination.
12. There shall be no restriction on the no. of attempts a person can take for acquiring OTET certificate. A person who has qualified OTET may also appear again for improving his/ her score.
13. The minimum pass mark in each paper is 60%. A person securing 60% or more in a paper shall be considered OTET pass. In case of SC, ST, OBC, SEBC & PH candidates, the minimum pass mark shall be 50%.
14. The weight age of OTET score in the recruitment process shall be decided by the Govt. from time to time.
15. Certificates and Score Cards shall be issued to successful candidates after proper verification of their eligibility mentioned at Para-(i) above.

01.Child Development and Pedagogy - Number of Questions 30 - Marks - 30.
02.Language – I (Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Telugu & Bengali) - Number of Questions 30 - Marks - 30.

AP TET May 2012 Notification
Online applications are invited from candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to VIII in schools in Andhra Pradesh for appearance in the third Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET-May, 2012) to be conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, 31 May, 2012 in all 23 Districts of the State.
All candidates who possess D.Ed.,/ B.Ed.,/Language Pandit or equivalent qualifications and candidates pursuing final year of the said courses during the academic year 2011-2012 with requisite percentage of marks obtained as given in information bulletin of APTET and who aspire to become teachers for classes I to VIII in the schools of the State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, Private Aided Schools and Private unaided schools in Andhra Pradesh State can appear for APTET. However, the candidates intending to seek employment as a teacher in private unaided schools shall have the option of appearing at CTET conducted by Central Government through CBSE instead of APTET, if they so desire. The candidates who did not qualify in the 1st and 2nd APTETs can also apply for the third APTET. Further, the candidates who got qualified in the earlier APTET can also apply for 3rd APTET if they desire improvement over their previous TET score.
The test (APTET) will be conducted in 2 papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. The candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to V have to appear for Paper-I and the candidates intending to be teachers for classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper- II. The candidates who intend to be teachers for all classes from I to VIII can appear for both papers, Paper-I and Paper-II
Date and Timings of third APTET: APTET will be conducted on 31 May 2012 in all the Districts of the State. The duration and timings of the test are given below:
Paper-I : 9.30 am to 12.00 noon (duration 2 ½ hours)
Paper-II : 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm (duration 2 ½ hours)
Fee and submission of Application Online: The fee prescribed for appearing for APTET (including examination fee) is Rs.300/- (Rupees Three hundre d only) for only Paper-I or only Paper-II or both. Candidates can pay the fee through APONLINE or e-Seva centers between 21.03.2012 and 11.04.2012 and submit online application at the APTET website http://aptet.cgg.gov.in between 22.03.2012 and 12.04.2012.
Procedure for submission of application online: Detailed procedure for applying ONLINE is given in the Information Bulletin. Candidates can download the ‘Information Bulletin’ free of cost from the APTET website: http://aptet.cgg.gov.in from 21.03.2012 onwards. Candidates can submit their applications online from 22.03.2012 to 12.04.2012.
Examination Centers for APTET May, 2012:
APTET shall be conducted in all the 23 Districts of the State. Candidate can choose any Examination Centre (District) of his choice. However, when the capacity of any particular Examination Centre (District) gets exhausted that particular Examination Centre (District) will not be displayed in the list of examination centers given in the online application form. In such case the candidate has to choose Examination Centre
(District) of his/her choice from the remaining list available.
